Choices Markets

At Choices Markets, we have a sound commitment to our customers, our community and our planet. Founded in 1990 by brothers Wayne and Lloyd Lockhart, Choices is Western Canada’s largest retailer of natural and organic foods. With the support of our community, this family business has grown into eight stores while remaining 100% Canadian owned and operated.

We are convinced that the choice for healthy living begins in our own back yard. By supporting local producers, we have established business partnerships which have led to a close relationship with our community. When our producers’ goods are available and in season, we have access to local organic treasures ranging from natural, free-range meats to fresh, nutrient-rich produce. And in our effort to choose local products, we’ve seen the benefits it has on our community as well as our planet. For Choices, going local has allowed us to decrease our emissions output and on a global level, has led to minimizing our carbon footprint.

Through the years, we’ve also partnered with local organizations that share our guiding principles. Together with community-based grassroots organizations such as FarmFolk/CityFolk, we’re taking the idea of an ecologically sustainable community and making it a reality. In this movement toward local economic growth, we at Choices Markets are proud to serve as long-time advocates and will continue to stand with our community.
