Glenwood family farm was established in 1986 to provide healthy food for the community. They take great pride in growing nutritious, handpicked, locally grown fruits and vegetables. With support and feedback from friends and family, Glenwood farm decided to start canning preserves in 2007, such as pickles, relishes, chutneys, salsas and jams. This new venture features products that are homemade and created using fresh, family farm ingredients with no preservatives or additives. All products are made right on the farm, ensuring that the freshest ingredients are used.
Consumers looking to enjoy local product throughout the seasons will find preserved products convenient and versatile. “Locally grown food is safe, healthy and delicious. The nutrients and flavours are allowed to develop fully while the product is still on the vine,” says Greg Reinhart, one of the company’s founders. By engaging customers directly at farmer’s market stands, he is able to share his passion for eating local while gathering feedback on new products.
Glenwood Preserves plans to further expand their business by creating and marketing value added products directly to local dinner tables. They are constantly experimenting and creating new masterpieces from the farm’s fresh vegetables, and have already successfully released over 40 new recipes. Greg mentions that one of the strengths of the business is their relationship with suppliers, who are able to supply a majority of grade A products year round.
