North Arm Farm is Pemberton’s family farm experience. They have farm animals, wagon rides, seasonal events and plenty of beautiful country to make any visit both memorable and enjoyable. The peace of Pemberton valley and the stunning beauty of Mount Currie looms 8000 feet over the 55-acre farm of naturally grown fruit and vegetables.
Visitors of the farm will be treated to a seasonal selection of homemade pies, muffins, cookies, bread, jams and preserves which are made fresh daily. Popular specialty items include flaky butter tarts and fluffy cinnamon buns, which can be enjoyed year-round. Children and adults alike will enjoy the opportunity to pick their own flowers, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and during the spring and summer months. Fall weather brings the annual pumpkin harvest, complimented by horse drawn wagon rides to the pumpkin patch every weekend from Thanksgiving to Halloween. “We have a public farm and it’s the day to day contacts that provide the most fulfillment,” says Jordan Sturdy, owner/operator of North Arm Farm.
As a family farm committed to the community, North Arm Farm is open to hosting private and corporate events, ranging from tours, weddings, birthday parties, BBQ’s and more. In August 2006 and 2007, North Arm Farm was delighted to host FarmFolk/CityFolk’s annual fundraiser, the Sea-to-Sky Feast of Fields. The event allowed visitors to tour the farm while they enjoyed locally inspired dishes from the region’s best chefs. Jordan admits that making the right choices is vital for family farms such as his to thrive as a business. A strong commitment to organic farming methods allows the farm to produce a wide variety of local produce to serve the needs of a growing and vibrant community.
Businesses and families in the sea-to-sky corridor can also find North Arm Farm’s products at the farmers’ market in Whistler, which runs from June to October every Sunday afternoon. Soon after, the Christmas season brings the Christmas Craft classic at Whistler conference center, where consumers can browse Christmas gifts, gift baskets, seasonal baking and preserves. The farm is also proud to supply a select number of fine restaurants in Vancouver and the Okanagan area. For more information on the farm and its activities, visit their website.
